The Locksmith Directory business was started in 1999 with a small sponsorship from ERA Security products. Ex London Master Locksmith Richard Breslin decided to adapt his web design skills and Master Locksmith training knowledge and start up The Locksmith Directory. Richard soon realised that the internet did indeed ' need a locksmith' and so he brought all the specialist UK master locksmiths under one website. This in turn has pushed out many rogue traders and educated the public and consumer that real qualified master locksmiths are here to help 24 hours a day with lock fitting, repairs, upgrades, safe servicing, key cutting and security advice. The establishment of a Training Centre at MLA Head Office enabled the organisation of a basic locksmith training programme in 1992. This has proved very successful and is now renowned throughout the locksmithing industry as the only formal locksmithing accreditation.
